Land of the Froudes

View Around the World #1 on Tony.Ruby's travel map.

Today we had a barbeque at the house in Lawton Oklahoma with about 30 friends and family coming by to visit us as well as Tony’s brother Jeffy and his family as they prepare for their move to France. Joan (Tony’s mom) made cowboy cookies and a banana cream pie for Ruby’s birthday (her favorite). We stayed up a little too late playing Wii and drinking wine with the family. By the way if you have a Wii, you have to ask Ruby to do the ski jump . . . it’s quite entertaining 

It all comes to fruition. . . but we're still exhausted!

Day one! For the last few months we have been saving for our honeymoon trip and have had many late nights awake planning the details. All you need to do is ask Christel our good friend and roommate about that since she was a firsthand witness to it all. I think we have been to every REI (camping store) in the bay area and talked to just about every employee at LAN airlines. We are planning this trip with only carry-on bags so it took more than a few attempts to pack! We even managed to pack a full sized pillow and queen size sheets (for Ruby of course). We started our drive from Ruby’s work in Palo Alto California at 6:30 pm with Ruby’s dad sending us off with some of Ruby’s favorite tacos from Fremont, gas money, and well wishes to start our trip.

Ruby’s Narcolepsy

Ruby’s Narcolepsy

After driving 24 hours straight we arrived in Oklahoma or as Ruby likes to call it “Land of the Froudes”. For any of you that have traveled with Ruby you know that she is borderline narcoleptic and had no difficulty sleeping most of the way.
